State: Utah
Age: 28
Bio: Born and raised in Utah, I swore I'd have to go live somewhere else for awhile, but nowhere I've been compares to this sweet state - especially for an outdoor lover like me. I ski and snowboard, hike and rock climb, and camp in mountains and red rock desert. I never get tired of trying new things and this year I took up mountain biking!
I Am A State Park Ambassador Because: I'm a huge fan of Utah State Parks. What strikes me about state parks is that, while they have many national and international visitors, they are often treasured assets in their local communities. The staff is often comprised of volunteers who feel a sense of stewardship for the park and want to protect it. The variety of people, programs and opportunities they offer are endless. The state parks are OUR parks, and it's time introduce them to a younger generation.
Schools Attended: Woods Cross High School, University of Utah
First State Park: Antelope Island State Park
Favorite State Park: Goblin Valley State Park
Park I Am Dying To Visit: Snow Canyon State Park
I've Visited State Parks In: California, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Utah
Coolest Thing I've Seen In Parks: I was recently at the Rock Cliff Nature Center at Jordanelle State Park. Indulging my curiosity, I started sneaking closer and closer to some potbellied earth-dwelling mammals poking their heads out of a hole when suddenly, I heard a hiss and a slither at my feet! I jumped about 2 feet in the air and then started laughing. While I was trying to be so sneaky, a (harmless) snake snuck up on me!

Who I Would Go On A Hike With If I Could: Any of our park naturalists; they know so much about the area and make it really interesting
This Sums It All Up For Me: Everyone should do something helpful for which they receive nothing but the privilege of doing it
