State: Indiana

Age: 29

Bio: I'm 26, so I'm sure I will be considered an "elder" among the other youth ambassadors! I'm married. I'm a graphic designer. I love traveling. My goal is to travel the world! Next on my list is South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Alaska. There's something about seeing a new place and having new experiences that really puts your own life into perspective. I love hiking and being outdoors. I love all types of music. Michael Jackson, John Mayer and the Black Keys are a few of my favorites. I'm determined to learn the Thriller dance. I love my family and friends. I have a Siberian Husky named Brody.

I Am A State Park Ambassador Because:
I wanted to be a youth ambassador because I want to share my passion for the outdoors with others. I think State Parks and National Parks are one of the cheapest and most rewarding ways for an individual or a family to spend their time. My husband & I have been trying to travel as much as we can and we have enjoyed going to National Parks. We’ve been to Rocky Mountain National Park, Canyonlands, Arches and most recently Bryce Canyon & Zion National Park. We really enjoy hiking, being outside and just seeing all of the different landscapes! As a youth ambassador I plan to get out there and show that going to the park can be a fun & healthy way to spend your day! Whether it’s hiking, fishing, boating, birdwatching, trail-running or camping…there is something that can appeal to everyone.

Schools Attended: University of Southern Indiana

Park I Am Really Eager To Visit: Out of State: Chugach State Park, Alaska In State: Indiana Dunes State Park

Coolest Thing I've Seen In Parks:
Wai‘anapanapa State Park in Maui. You don't find many black sand beaches, blow holes or gorgeous Pacific ocean vistas here in Indiana. So when my husband & I were on the Road to Hana in Maui, we stopped at the Wai'anapanapa State Park and were blown away by the uniqueness and beauty of this place. I wouldn't say that I prefer the black sand beaches to normal beaches, but its something you don't get to see everyday!

What Not To Miss In My State's Parks: Hiking in the fall! We have some of the prettiest fall landscapes around!

Who I Would Go On A Hike With If I Could: Bear Grylls! I'm sure he would make it an adventure!
