State: Iowa

Age: 23

Bio: I grew up as an outside kid that never wanted to come inside. I moved around a bit - California, Colorado, Iowa, Maryland, Japan, and back to Iowa for high school. I am currently a senior at Iowa State University completing 2 degrees: Anthropology with Environmental Studies Minor and a Bachelor of Liberal Studies with an emphasis on Biology. Looking forward to continuing learning once I graduate!

Meg's Updates

I Am A State Park Ambassador Because: As a child, I spent every minute of the day outside. Whether it was swimming, biking, rollerblading, skiing, camping, climbing trees, exploring, digging in the dirt, or going on nature hikes, my curiosity has always urged me to explore. There are far too many distractions in the average American's life, especially for American children, and I feel that these people are missing out dearly on many valuable lessons and experiences by avoiding nature. I have learned so much from being outside and I want others to experience this enthusiasm I have for the outdoors. What better way than promoting beautiful and exciting destinations within my own statewide community? I look forward to learning more about Iowa's state parks as an ambassador!
