State: Iowa
Age: 20
Bio: I grew up on an acreage in the country and constantly explored in the woods behind my house, discovering a strong love for nature. Frequent camping trips with my family, being a Girl Scout, and volunteering at parks in my area furthered my passion for the great outdoors and led me to pursue a career in the natural resources field. I am now a sophomore at Simpson College double majoring in Environmental Science and Multimedia Journalism with a minor in Biology. I love being very involved on campus and doing anything outdoors.
I Am A State Park Ambassador Because: It's devestating to see State Parks across the country diminishing and closing due to lack of funding. The only way to make people notice that this is a huge problem is to make the parks important to everyone. I want to help everyone to discover all the fun recreational opportunities that parks offer and the mental and physical benefits that come along with being active outdoors. I want others to enjoy the State Parks as much as I do and not only use these areas, but respect them as well. This is the perfect way to share everything I'm most passionate about!

Coolest Thing I've Seen In Parks: Everytime I go to a state park I see someone experience a first, whether it be the first time they've caught a fish, the first time they've set up a tent or even the first time they've ever hiked. That's always inspiring to see. Another cool things is the amount of volunteer work people do to help parks just because they love being outdoors.
