Bio: My name is Ruth Misch. My parents are Dan and Terry Misch, and I have two older siblings, Mark and Audrey. I've played soccer since I was about six, and am still active in my high school team. I've done band since fifth grade, and have played trumpet, French horn, and tuba over the last six years. Last year I was accepted into Chesapeake Bay Governor's School, where I am now taking my math and science classes. I've been active in the Livestock Club for five years, and hold the Secretary position. I am a grade 8 referee, and I ref soccer games in the winter and spring. I've been going to 4-H camp for five years, the last two as a teen leader. I've also participated in Camp Wamava, a church camp, as a camper for seven years and as a teen leader for two.
I Am A State Park Ambassador Because: I've become a State Parks Youth Ambassador because it seemed like a good way to explore my environment. It will give me hands-on experience of a real job, and let me spend time in the outdoors, which I love doing. I've grown up going to Caledon, whether for field trips or hikes or the Halloween Haunts. I've gone there for charity events, such as beach cleaning. My mother and brother have both worked with the people there (my brother works at Caledon)and they've always enjoyed it. I look forward to the responsibility and benefits of the job equally.

I've Visited State Parks In: Virginia
Coolest Thing I've Seen In Parks: I think the coolest thing I've ever seen is the wildlife found in the state parks. I've walked down the trails and seen all kinds of wildlife, from deer to frogs. I was there last week with the Park Ranger and saw four bald eagles in about 20 minutes. I love seeing them in their natural environment, instead of cooped up in zoos.
