State: Virginia
Park: Lake Anna State Park
Age: 19
Bio: Just graduating from high school, my life has been full of changes. One of the most exciting, major changes includes moving four and a half hours away to attend Bluefield College where I plan on majoring in Elementary Education. From an early age, I knew that I wanted to spend most of my life teaching and working with people. I enjoy being outside, discovering things, and most importantly; helping people learn to discover things...outdoors.
I Am A State Park Ambassador Because: When I was first introduced to this program, I thought there was no way that I would have time to commit to something like this. I was then told of the many opportunities available for me to become active and involved within my community, something that I enjoy more than anything. How could I say no to something I receive so much joy and happiness from?
Schools Attended: Patrick Henry High School (Ashland), Bluefield College
First State Park: Lake Anna
Favorite State Park: Lake Anna
Park I Am Dying To Visit: Lake Tahoe-Nevada State Park
I've Visited State Parks In: Florida, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia
Coolest Thing I've Seen In Parks: Well, loving the beach and the mountains, it is very hard to find a State Park that has them both. In the Blue Ridge Mountains (where my family is located), we were hiking through the mountains and then came up over this hill and there was a small beach area tucked in between two mountains. It was extremely breath-taking!
Interests: Making people happy and creating new friends, singing, going to church, & writing/editing literature
Music Played At My Campfire: Religious songs and a lot of country music!
What Not To Miss In My State's Parks: The friendly, outgoing staff
Who I Would Go On A Hike With If I Could: Steve Irwin (Crocodile Hunter)
