State: Montana
Age: 22
Bio: I grew up in Helena, MT (that's the capital!) and have spent a lot of time exploring this beautiful state. When it came time for college, I knew that I didn't want to leave Montana and, consequently, stayed in Helena to attend Carroll College. I'm finally a senior and am double majoring in Communications and Environmental Studies. My aspiration is to work as an interpreter in a park. For those of you that don't know, an interpreter is someone who connects the natural resources of a park to the visitors. One day I'll be that lady that gives the talk about birds! So far I've been following that dream rather well and have worked at Colorado National Monument (a national park in Grand Junction, CO - you should all go!) for two summers. This summer I am the interpretive intern at Montana State Parks and am getting to do all kinds of amazing things!
I Am A State Park Ambassador Because: As a little girl, my parents would take me to historic events in ghost towns and we'd all dress in period clothing. I spent countless hours at a local state park called Spring Meadow Lake and almost always stopped at a state park on family trips. The resources protected by Montana State Parks are a large part of our history and identity. Montana is known for its wilderness and scenery, but state parks give it a history and identity on top of that. They are important places and should be treated as such.

Coolest Thing I've Seen In Parks: I love being able to follow the development of animals. When I was younger, a local state park had a bridge that went over an awesome wetland area. Every spring I would go there to see minnows, baby turtles, and ducklings and I'd watch them all grow up over the summer. I think that you don't need to see a Condor attacking a Coyote to have an amazing experience in a state park; it's the little details that make them so amazing!
