Congressman John Lewis’s speech at the U. S. Capital Visitor Center in DC
NASPD President Joe Elton called Atlanta Congressman John Lewis’ speech a dynamic and refreshing reminder about the importance of America’s parks. It is clear that local and state parks represent the close to home venues for outdoor recreation that best serve the nation’s urban and suburban populations. The congressman was one of several members of congress invited by National Recreation and Park Association CEO Barbara Tulipane to an awards ceremony honoring members of congress.
