New York has some of the best state parks in the entire country. The parks’ geography ranges from internationally recognized features such as Niagara Falls to less well-known, yet beautiful, sites such as Taughannock Falls State Park.

The state has a significant budget of over 300 million, invested to fund and maintain these state parks to their top condition to provide an unforgettable experience for visitors especially to those parks in rural areas, where there are thousands of miles of trails to maintain, as these trails are integral in providing some of the greatest memories of a trip.

Aside from parks, there are also several forts all over the state which are identified both under being a state park, as well as being on the National Register of Historic Places like Ganondagan State Historic Site, Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park, and more.
