The Anthony Wayne Recreation Area of Harriman State Park sits amid a beautiful wooded valley offering abundant year-round day use amenities.
Available is a wonderful picnic grove with cozy fireplaces, several play fields and hiking trails that double as cross-country ski routes in winter. This area is also known for its mountain bike route along Beechy Bottom Road. It is actually an old abandoned gravel road wide enough for families not wishing to conquer more technical trails.
The mountain bike path is considered easy and meanders through the wooded valley. Access is year-round offering solitude during the colder months when visitor numbers have decreased. The Anthony Wayne Recreation Area does permit amplified music by permit only. Dogs are permitted if they are muzzled and the leash is not more than 6 feet. A rabies tag must be displayed.
