Bluestem State Recreation Area offers fishing, a swimming beach, picnicking and primitive camping. The 742-acre state recreation area, is situated 2.5 miles west of Sprague.
The 325-acre lake offers diverse action for anglers of all abilities. Boaters find there is easy access to the water from strategically located ramps.
he 417 acres of land around the lake give hunters plenty of room to maneuver for pheasants, quail, squirrel cottontail rabbit, waterfowl and deer.

Open year round. Camping is available year-round in Nebraska.
Fees
Resident Park Permits: Residents $31 for an annual permit, duplicate annual permits are available for $16 and daily permits for $6.
Non-Resident Park Permits: For vehicles not registered and licensed in Nebraska $61 for an annual permit, duplicate annuals permits are available for $31 and daily permits for $12.
