Three men are now facing federal charges for approaching a group of brown bears while the bears are feeding in the wild back on August 9, 2018. David Engelman, Ronald J. Engelman II, and Steven Thomas were standing on a viewing platform at the Brooks River in Katmai National Park and Preserve when they went down within 50m into the river while the bears were feeding at Brooks Falls.
