Commercial Fishing Vessel Runs Aground On Island Beach State Park Near A-23

At 10 pm yesterday, a witness noticed a fishing vessel run aground on Island Beach State Park in Area 23 in New Jersey. The witness stated that it appeared the vessel lost power and drifted onto the shore. According to other sources, there were three aboard and no injuries were reported. The vessel is marked “Bear” and the home port appears to be Barnegat Light.   Source Photo Credit  

Asbury Park shuts down Paramount Theatre & Convention Hall 

The iconic Paramount Theater in Asbury Park has been shut down, the same goes for the Convention Hall. Both areas were deemed unsafe for human occupancy by Madison Marquette after the city of Asbury Park gave them default with regards to safety concerns. With the pandemic toning down and entertainment and live music are already allowed, this is a full blow in terms of revenue for Madison Marquette. The Annual Lake Hopatcong Block Party

People gather to urge protection of Liberty State Park

Demonstrators held a rally at Liberty State Park on Saturday to demand protection for the state park from privatization. Behind the rally was a counter-protest organized by a group called Liberty State Park For All, to voice support for recreation in the park and “to increase awareness about the broken promises of Liberty State Park and amplify Jersey City’s community voices,” according to the group.
