Cave Lake State Park offers outstanding recreational opportunities year-round. Stocked with rainbow trout and home to German brown trout, the 32-acre reservoir provides outstanding fishing and boating.
Other summer activities include swimming, hiking, camping and mountain biking. Once winter arrives, guests of the park can enjoy ice fishing, skating, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. The park is also home to abundant and diverse wildlife.
Perched in the middle of the Schell Creek Range, at an elevation of 7,300 feet, Cave Lake State Park offers outstanding scenic views and opportunities for nature study and photography. Facilities include campgrounds, picnic areas, hiking trails and a boat launch.
The 32-acre reservoir is popular for trout fishing, craw-dadding, boating, hiking, picnicking and camping. Winter sports such as ice fishing, cross-country skiing and ice skating are also available.
Snow sculpting is becoming a popular activity, and the White Pine Fire & Ice Show is the premier winter event in the area. If you are lucky, you may spot large and small mammals such as elk, mule deer, bobcat, mountain lion, coyote, various rodents, and rabbits that reside in the park.
