Thanks to Lillian Floyd’s effort, Tomlinson Run State Park Campground now has a free book exchange library.

Lillian is a junior at Parkersburg High School and a member of Girl Scout Troop 34016, she is not from the local area but is a frequent camper of the park in where she loves to tread.

She got the idea when she went to the park and didn’t have anything left to read. She initiated collecting and asking for book donations from the community, then built the boxes with the help of her dad. Her idea is to make reading convenient and accessible anywhere.

She started the Free Book Lending Libraries which are now located in three West Virginia state parks: Tomlinson Run State Park, Audra State Park, and Cedar Creek State Park.
