A former Alabama state park, this lakeside attraction is set in a wooded area of tall pines and hardwoods with grassy lawns, plants and wildflowers.
Lake Jackson is the only natural lake in the state and it shares half of its shoreline with Florida. The white sandy beaches around the lake are similar to the beaches in the Gulf without the extra drive down there.
Visitors to this park come not only for the beach but also to fish, boat and camp lakeside.
Lake Jackson RV Park wraps around the Alabama side of the lake and also has boardwalks and pavilions within a unique wetlands area. An elevated boardwalk leads into these wetlands through the Spanish moss-draped cypress forest and palmetto scrub and winds along the lake.
Year round trails, boating, bass fishing, camping and picnicking are popular attractions to this 40 acre lakeside park. Picnic tables, large pavilions and a sprawling playground are conveniently located throughout the park.
The Rodney J Evans Memorial Building is available for group functions and special events. This multi-use facility is 10,000 sq ft and has a full kitchen area and convertible meeting rooms that can accommodate groups up to 350. A nearby amphitheater also has seating for up to 350 people making this an ideal setting for weddings and other special events.
