Fishing at Milton State Park

Hiking at Milton State Park

Picnicking at Milton State Park

Picnicking is a popular activity at Milton State Park and there are several spots where you can enjoy an al fresco meal.

Dotted around the park are a few picnic areas with tables and grills that are perfect for a family lunch or a small gathering.

Guests are welcome to bring their own food. However, they are requested to dispose of their trash responsibly. They are also not permitted to drink alcohol.

Pets

Pets are welcome at Milton State Park, however owners must abide by strict conditions if they intend to bring them along.

This includes all dogs being kept on a leash and well behaved for the entirety of their stay. It also involves them not being taken to certain areas of the park and being up-to-date with their vaccinations.

Camping

While there are no camping options available at the park there are several within the surrounding area you may want to stay at.

One notable option is the Koa Campground, which is located less than 10 miles from the park. It offers both tent and RV sites, as well as cabins for those who prefer a more comfortable lodging experience. The campground also features amenities such as a pool, playground, and game room.

Another good choice about 20 miles north of Milton State Park is the R.B. Winter State Park campground. It has several campsites available, including some with electric hookups. Visitors can also enjoy a range of outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, and boating, as well as access to a beach and swimming area.

A third possibility is the Susquehanna River Valley KOA Holiday. Situated about 30 minutes west of the park, its campground offers RV and tent sites, as well as cabins and deluxe cabins.

If you choose to stay here, you can enjoy amenities such as a pool, playground, and dog park, and also get access to nearby attractions such as the Susquehanna River and Penn’s Cave.
