A new bill is being proposed for anyone visiting a New York State Park to bring their own reusable water bottle.

The new bill aims to ban the sale of single-use plastic water bottles in the parks. It is still unknown whether water stations are to be provided for guests but that would be the most likely solution. The bill is seen to encourage people to reduce the use of disposable water bottles since a million water bottles are being sold worldwide every minute.

Environment advocates are supporting the bill which is introduced by Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick and Assemblywoman Pat Fahy. Fahy also supports a bill that requires single-use plastic water bottles to be made using 75% recycled material by the year 2025.
