New EV charging station was installed at Caballo Lake State Park. This was part of the $1.2 million improvement project, thanks to the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD).
Staff held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new, state-of-the-art visitor center last December 11, 2021.
Officials from EMNRD, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and local dignitaries from Sierra County attended.
The new building combines staff offices and a visitor information area.
Other major improvements to the park include parking and landscaping improvements and a solar system providing 8.69 kW of energy.
The electric vehicle (EV) charging station was installed to serve travelers along the I-25 corridor and all visitors to the park.
