Peninsula State Park will soon have an inclusive playground at Nicolet Beach

Peninsula State Park will soon have an inclusive playground at Nicolet Beach thanks to efforts of the Friends of Peninsula State Park and all the people who contributed towards the project.

All children regardless of capabilities will be able to enjoy this playground. This will replace the torn down playground equipment that were previously used by kids.

There are 1.5 million visitors in 10 months for Peninsula State park and the playground is very much used by almost all visitors with kids. It will really mean a lot for the kids and the parents to have a better, cleaner, and ADA-equipped playground.

The new playground design will provide a positive outdoor experience that will improve mental, physical, and emotional health for all children. The playground will feature a wheelchair friendly merry-go-round, a climbing tower, a music wall with instruments and modified swings.

However, as of the moment, the required budget for the project has not been reached and the Friends of Peninsula State Park are knocking on the hearts of everyone who are willing to donate and raise the money needed to make this plan come true as soon as possible.

With the community’s help, they plan to have the updated playground in place in Spring of 2022, if they raise $120,000.

Friends of Peninsula State Park say a generous donor is matching up to $40,000 in donations from the public.

The campaign will be open until December 31st, anyone interested in donating in the spirit of Christmas and to make  a lot of kids happier can click here.
