Yurok Tribe successfully restores the Sue-Meg State Park’s Name

Yurok Tribal members are rejoicing after the California State Parks Commission approved their request of changing Patrick's Point State Park to its original name. Now, the park is called Sue-Meg State Park. The State Park was named after Patrick Beegan in the mid-1800s, he was a homesteader accused of violence against Native Americans. It was due to this that the Yurok Tribe requested to revert the state park to its original name.
