Round Lake State Park is a 142-acre state park surrounding a pristine 55-acre glacial lake near Sagle, Bonner County, in Idaho’s northern panhandle, managed by Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation. The park features a crystal-clear glacial lake with non-motorized and electric-only boating — keeping the water quiet and pristine, a campground with tent and RV sites nestled in mature western red cedar and Douglas fir forest, a swimming beach on the lake shore, fishing for rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and perch, nature trails through old-growth western red cedar stands, year-round recreation including cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on winter trails, canoe and kayak access to the secluded lake, and a peaceful mountain atmosphere just minutes from Sandpoint and the larger Lake Pend Oreille.

The electric-only boating rule is what makes Round Lake special — no gas-powered motors means no engine noise, no exhaust, no wake. The lake stays pristine and quiet, making it perfect for paddling, fly fishing, and nature observation in a way that’s impossible on busier Idaho lakes.

The old-growth cedar forest surrounding the lake creates a cathedral-like atmospheremassive western red cedars with trunks several feet in diameter tower overhead, their feathery branches filtering sunlight into green-gold patterns on the forest floor. The nature trail winds through some of the finest remaining cedar stands in the panhandle.
