The course was built in two phases during the 1920s and 1940s and offers an affordable public golf experience on state-preserved open space.

Course History

Originally owned by the Bennett Family, the property was developed for golf in two phases — the 1920s and 1940s — creating an 18-hole layout that takes advantage of the natural terrain and mature tree cover along the Manasquan River. The State of New Jersey acquired the property in the 1970s through its Green Acres Program, ensuring permanent public access to this recreational resource. The course is currently operated and managed by private entities under lease agreements.

Course Features

The par-72 layout at 6,224 yards features tree-lined fairways winding through a mature landscape along the Manasquan River. The combination of natural water features, elevation changes, and strategic bunkering provides an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all skill levels. The course’s vintage design and established trees give it a character that newer courses cannot replicate.
