Eisenhower State Park sits on the rocky southern shore of Lake Texoma, the giant Red River reservoir on the Texas–Oklahoma line — a place where limestone bluffs drop to open water and striped bass boil at dawn. The park is named for the 34th U.S. president, Dwight D. Eisenhower, who was born just down the road in Denison in 1890; the land was leased from the Army in 1954 and opened to the public in 1958. Getting There
The park is about 10 minutes northwest of Denison via US-75 and FM 1310, hard against the Denison Dam. From Dallas, allow about 75 minutes north on US-75; the Oklahoma line is literally across the water.
Nearby Parks Worth Combining
