Lake Wenatchee State Park — 489 acres at the confluence of the Wenatchee River and Lake Wenatchee in the Central Cascades — straddles a magnificent glacier-carved lake surrounded by mountain peaks reaching 7,000+ feet. The 5-mile lake’s turquoise glacial water is fed by snowmelt from the Glacier Peak Wilderness. Sockeye salmon return to the Wenatchee River each fall — one of the most important runs in the Columbia Basin. Black bears are common (food storage required). Mule deer and elk browse the meadows.
