🏄 Nature’s Water Slide — 60-Foot Smooth Rock Chute With 11,000 Gallons Per Minute in the Blue Ridge Mountains — A 60-foot natural water slide over a smooth granite face with 11,000 gallons of cold mountain water per minute, lifeguards, and an 8-foot-deep plunge pool — Pisgah National Forest, North Carolina

Sliding Rock is one of the most iconic natural attractions in the American Southeast — a 60-foot smooth rock face with 11,000 gallons of cold mountain water rushing over it every minute, creating a natural water slide that deposits riders into an 8- to 10-foot-deep plunge pool of crystal-clear, bracingly cold (50–60°F) mountain water.

Located in the Pisgah National Forest near Brevard, just 7 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Sliding Rock draws hundreds of thousands of visitors annually who come to experience what is essentially nature’s own water park — no tubes, no slides, no infrastructure needed. Just gravity, water, and one perfectly smooth 60-foot boulder.
