Wildlife & Nature
Mountain Bridge WA — 13,000 acres of protected wilderness along the Blue Ridge Escarpment — where the Blue Ridge Mountains drop 2,000 feet to the Piedmont below. The area’s mountain cove forest, waterfalls, and cliffs support black bears, peregrine falcons, and green salamanders. Raven Cliff Falls (420 feet) is one of the tallest waterfalls in the eastern US.
