Frequently Asked Questions

Were stagecoaches really common in Nebraska?

Yes — before the transcontinental railroad (1869), stagecoach lines crossed Nebraska carrying passengers, mail, and freight. The journey from Missouri to California took 3 weeks by stage — bouncing over rutted tracks in cramped coaches. The Pony Express also crossed Nebraska, reducing mail delivery to 10 days.
