Washmorgan Hollow State Natural Area in Sequatchie County protects a deep forested hollow on the Cumberland Plateau near the Sequatchie Valley โ€” a 60-mile-long, straight-as-an-arrow valley formed by the erosion of an anticline (an upward fold in rock layers). The Sequatchie is one of the most geologically striking valleys in the eastern United States, and the hollows draining into it support exceptionally rich biodiversity.
