South Carolina’s Oldest State Park

Cheraw State Park, established in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, wraps around the beautiful Lake Juniper. This historic park combines natural beauty with championship golf.

Camping on Lake Juniper

The campground offers 17 sites with water and electric hookups, six of which sit directly on the waterfront. All sites are pull-through, accommodating tents, trailers, and RVs up to 40 feet.

Tom Jackson Championship Golf Course

The 18-hole championship course designed by Tom Jackson winds through a pine forest along Lake Juniper. No adjacent houses or condos – just pure parkland golf.

Reservations for Cheraw State Park can be made up to 13 months in advance through the South Carolina State Parks website or by calling the reservation desk.

Is the golf course open in 2025?

Yes! The course is fully operational throughout 2025. Renovation closure is scheduled for March-October 2026.
