Manzano Mountains SP — at 7,600 feet in the Manzano Mountains. The park’s pinyon-juniper-ponderosa forest, mountain meadows, and rocky terrain support mule deer, black bears, and wild turkeys. “Manzano” means “apple” in Spanish — referencing old apple orchards planted by Spanish missionaries.
