Morgan’s Landing State Recreation Area is a state recreation area on the Kenai River at Sterling Highway Mile 84 on the Kenai Peninsula, Alaska, managed by Alaska State Parks (DPOR). The area features walk-in tent camping sites along the river, Kenai River fishing access for king (chinook) salmon, red (sockeye) salmon, silver (coho) salmon, rainbow trout, and Dolly Varden, a boat launch for drift boat and raft access to the Kenai River, wildlife viewing for moose (frequently seen in camp), black bears, brown bears, and bald eagles, vault toilet facilities, a picnic area, and a prime location on the upper Kenai River in the heart of Alaska’s most famous salmon fishery.

Morgan’s Landing sits on the upper Kenai River — arguably the most famous salmon river in the world. The king salmon run (May–July) draws anglers from across the globe, and the sockeye run (July–August) fills the river with millions of fish.

The walk-in campground is rustic but beautifully sited along the riverbank. Moose sightings in camp are nearly guaranteed, and bears patrol the river during salmon runs — proper food storage is mandatory.
