Tinkers Creek State Park is a 355-acre Ohio state park in Streetsboro that Summit Metro Parks manages as the Tinkers Creek Area of Liberty Park. Swamp, marsh and a fishing pond make it a place to watch wildlife, fish or walk a short loop. There is no campground and no swimming area.
Things to Do
Summit Metro Parks lists archery, boating, fishing, ice fishing and hiking for the Tinkers Creek Area, plus picnic tables, restrooms and a shelter house.
- Pond View Trail: an easy 0.75-mile loop around the fishing pond. Look for waterfowl, wildflowers and signs of muskrats and beavers.
- Fishing and boating: both are allowed on the pond, with carry-in boat access only. Ohio fishing license rules apply.
- Archery: the area has an archery range.
Wildlife
Bald eagles, shore birds, sandhill cranes, otters, trumpeter swans and nesting migrants live in this wetland park. During spring and fall migration, the marsh gives food and shelter to many species of waterfowl. Liberty Park as a whole was designated an Important Bird Area by the Audubon Society in 2006.
