Pinnacle State Park in Addison, Steuben County, is no longer run as a state park; in 2026 its land was added to McCarthy Hill State Forest, managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
The former park’s 716.71 acres doubled the state forest to about 1,510 acres. The land is free and open to the public under DEC’s state forest rules, which allow hiking, primitive camping, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hunting and trapping. A trail network that includes the Finger Lakes Trail already links the two parcels. Boats and other personal property left on the former park land will be removed after December 1, 2026.
