Cranberry Lake Campground and Day Use Area is a campground and day use area just south of the hamlet of Cranberry Lake in the Town of Clifton, St. Lawrence County, New York, run by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). It is not a state park, even though it is sometimes searched as “Cranberry Lake State Park”. You reach it by car from Lone Pine Road.

Location & Getting There
The campground lies just south of the hamlet of Cranberry Lake and is reached from Lone Pine Road. The park’s coordinates are 44.2055, -74.8312.
Things to Do
The day use area sits next to the beach on Cranberry Lake and is where campers and day visitors gather. The campground has a central shower house and a picnic pavilion, and DEC has run an environmental education program for campers here since 1993, though not every year. Cranberry Lake itself is a large reservoir: its size goes back to a concrete dam on the Oswegatchie River built in 1916.

DEC sets the camping and day-use fees for its campgrounds and takes reservations through ReserveAmerica; check the DEC campground page for this season’s dates and rates. Bring only untreated firewood from within 50 miles of the campground, as New York’s firewood regulation requires. As of October 2026.
