Flight Park State Recreation Area is a state recreation area at the Point of the Mountain between Draper and Lehi in Salt Lake County, Utah, managed by Utah State Parks in partnership with the Utah Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (UHGPGA). The park features a world-renowned hang gliding and paragliding launch site with consistent ridge lift and thermal conditions, both north-side and south-side launch areas for different wind conditions, a training hill for beginning hang glider and paraglider pilots, spectator-friendly viewing areas with benches and parking, year-round flying conditions (one of only a few sites globally), paragliding tandem flight experiences with certified instructors, restroom facilities, and a location at the geographic dividing point between the Salt Lake Valley and Utah Valley.
Point of the Mountain is one of the most-flown hang gliding and paragliding sites in the world — the unique geography creates reliable ridge lift on both north and south wind days, meaning conditions are flyable nearly every day of the year. This consistency makes it an ideal training site for new pilots.
