Grand Lake State Park is an Oklahoma state park in the northeast of the state that is made up of several separate areas. TravelOK, the official travel site of the Oklahoma Tourism & Recreation Department, describes the park as a whole as “several smaller areas located near the Pensacola Dam and around the lake”. The lake is Grand Lake O’ The Cherokees, which TravelOK calls one of Oklahoma’s largest lakes, with 46,500 surface acres and 1,300 miles of shoreline. More than 60 miles of that shoreline wind through the Ozark Mountains, according to TravelOK.

Bernice Area
On the northwestern corner of Grand Lake, at 54101 E Hwy 85 A, Bernice. The 88-acre area has primitive tent sites, 33 RV sites with water and 50-amp electric hookups, a swimming beach, a nature center, two wildlife watch towers and a one-mile paved path. Cherokee Area
Near the Pensacola Dam; the park office is at 13000 E 387 Rd, Langley. TravelOK names four campgrounds here: Lakeside, Grand View, Riverside and Grand Cherokee. The area also has a lighted boat ramp and the 9-hole Grand Cherokee Golf Course. From late October through March, the Grand River below the dam is a good place to watch bald eagles, TravelOK says. Disney Area
By the flood gates of the Pensacola Dam, at 232 Cliff Heights, Disney. TravelOK describes a public boat ramp and primitive tent campsites between the trees and the lake; the comfort station with restrooms and hot showers is at the Cherokee Grandview area. Little Blue Area
On State Hwy 28 E, Disney. A small creek with shallow, clear water that suits families with young children, and 30 primitive tent sites between the trees and Grand Lake. Honey Creek Area
On the shore of Grand Lake in Grove, at 901 State Park Rd. The 38-acre area is open year-round. It has RV and tent sites that must be reserved online, a seasonal outdoor pool, a fishing dock, a fish cleaning station and a lighted boat ramp with courtesy dock. Park office: 918-786-9447. Spavinaw Area
On the western end of Spavinaw Lake below the spillway, at 555 S Main St, Spavinaw. This area is on Spavinaw Lake, not on Grand Lake. Twin Bridges Area
At 14820 S Hwy 137, Miami. TravelOK highlights fishing for bass, catfish, bluegill and spoonbill, with bait and tackle at the gift shop.
