Jacksonport SP — on the confluence of the White and Black Rivers — once a thriving steamboat port and Civil War supply depot. The 1869 courthouse (one of the oldest in Arkansas) is now a museum. The park’s rivers, bottomland forest, and wetlands support bald eagles, great blue herons, and alligator gar — living fossils that can grow over 8 feet long.
