Visitor Tips
Day use costs $5 per vehicle for New Mexico residents (free October 1 through April 30) and $10 for non-residents. An Annual Day-Use Pass costs $75 for residents and $150 for non-residents. High winds are common in the spring, which can affect boating on the larger lakes. Hydration is critical: always carry significantly more water than you think you need, as the high altitude and dry air accelerate dehydration. Sun protection is equally important. Campsite reservations recommend booking early, especially for the popular lakeside sites during summer and holidays.
