Despite the name, Poe Springs is not a Florida state park. It is Poe Springs Park, run by Alachua County on the Santa Fe River west of High Springs, at 28800 NW 182nd Avenue, High Springs, FL 32643.
Water area closed (as of October 2026): Alachua County reports that the water area is closed until further notice because of the water level. Check with the park before you plan a swim.

Poe Springs Park lies in Alachua County near High Springs. The park’s coordinates are 29.8257, -82.6490. The park phone is 352-264-6847.
Things to Do
Alachua County lists swimming, canoeing access, a boat ramp, fishing, hiking and nature trails, picnicking with and without shelters, play equipment, volleyball and ball fields. Loop trails run through the park, and a boardwalk crosses the cypress swamp to the spring. A boat launch and dock give you access to the Santa Fe River. Anderson’s Outdoor Adventures, the county’s concessionaire, rents kayaks, canoes and paddle boards, runs river shuttles and takes pavilion and lodge reservations (352-507-0059).
Hours
Summer hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from May to September, winter hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from October to March. The park is open seven days a week and closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. It may close when the spring reaches its capacity of 100 people.
Visitor Tips
Poe Springs charges a seasonal fee from May to September: $6 per vehicle, or $1 per person on foot or by bicycle. Entry is free from October to March. Because this is a county park, Florida State Parks passes and reservations do not apply. Pets are allowed on a handheld leash at all times but may not swim in the spring.
