RV Camping in State Parks
State parks offer some of the best RV camping in America — with full-hookup sites at a fraction of private RV resort prices. Whether you drive a Class A motorhome or tow a small trailer, you’ll find hundreds of parks with electric, water, and sewer hookups.

Types of RV Sites

Full Hookup — Electric (30/50 amp), water, and sewer. Typically $25–$45/night.
Partial Hookup — Electric and water only. Use dump station for sewer. $18–$35/night.
Electric Only — Power hookup with water spigot nearby. $15–$30/night.
Dry Camping/Boondocking — No hookups. Some parks offer primitive RV areas. $10–$20/night.

What to Know Before You Go

Site length limits — Check maximum RV length. Many state park sites max out at 35–40 feet.
Pull-through vs. back-in — Pull-through sites are easier but less common. Reserve early if you need one.
Dump stations — Most parks with RV camping have dump stations, but verify before arriving.
Generators — Quiet hours typically 10 PM–7 AM. Some parks have generator-free zones.
Reservations — Book 3–6 months ahead for peak season. Many systems open reservations on a rolling basis.
