Benson State Recreation Area sits along the Columbia River in the dramatic Columbia River Gorge — where the river cuts through the Cascade Range creating one of the most spectacular river corridors in North America. The park’s lake supports warm-water fishing for bass, bluegill, and catfish. The Columbia River Gorge is a globally significant bird migration corridor — millions of songbirds, raptors, and waterfowl funnel through the narrow passage between the Cascades’ volcanic peaks. Osprey nest on platforms throughout the gorge. The area’s unique wind patterns — created by pressure differentials between the cool coast and warm interior — make it a world-class windsurfing and kiteboarding destination.

Multnomah Falls — Oregon’s most visited natural attraction — plunges 620 feet in two tiers. Crown Point State Scenic Corridor offers panoramic gorge views from the historic Vista House.
