Cliffs of the Neuse SP — 892 acres — features 90-foot multicolored cliffs along the Neuse River that expose 100 million years of geological history. The layers of sand, clay, and gravel display vivid reds, oranges, and whites. Fossils of ancient sea creatures are found in the cliffs. Bald eagles, osprey, and river otters inhabit the river.
