Oceano Dunes SVRA — on the Central Coast near Pismo Beach — is the only state park in California where you can drive on the beach and the only coastal dunes in California open to OHV recreation. The massive dune system — extending 5 miles — provides ATV, dune buggy, and 4×4 riding. Western snowy plovers (threatened) and California least terns (endangered) nest in protected exclosures. Peregrine falcons hunt the dunes.
