Situated just west of Lawrence, Clinton Lake’s seven parks, located on 15,000 acres surrounding 7,000 acres of surface water provide plenty of space for outdoor recreation activities. The lake itself was authorized in 1962 and funds were first appropriated for construction in 1971. The project was completed in 1980.

Camping, sightseeing, boating, hiking, bicycling, picnicking and hunting are just a few of the favorite activities enjoyed by visitors around the lake today. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages five of the parks, the City of Lawrence manages one park (which includes the Eagle Bend Golf Course), and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks manages Clinton State Park.

A marina concessionaire located in the State Park, provides a full line of marina services.
