Frequently Asked Questions
Is East Texas different from the rest of Texas?
Yes โ East Texas is culturally and geographically distinct. Dense pine forests, rolling hills, and significant African-American communities give it a Deep South character. West Texas has deserts and ranches; Central Texas has Hill Country; South Texas has border culture. East Texas has barbecue traditions, Cajun influences from nearby Louisiana, and a plantation history. Texas’s internal diversity rivals differences between separate states.
