• Firewood: Strict: out-of-state/imported firewood banned unless certified heat-treated and labeled 'New York Approved Heat-treated Firewood/Pest Free.' Untreated NY firewood may not move more than 50 miles from source unless heat-treated; source label or Self-Issued Certificate of Origin required
• Good to know: Notably strict firewood law: out-of-state wood banned outright and in-state untreated wood cannot travel over 50 miles from source. NYS Parks and DEC share one portal with a unified 9-month window
