🏆 Utah’s Wasatch Reservoir Escape — Mountain-framed reservoir with sailing, fishing, camping, and year-round recreation in Provo Canyon

Deer Creek State Park wraps around a stunning 2,965-acre reservoir nestled in Provo Canyon between the Wasatch Mountains and the Heber Valley. Just 40 minutes from Salt Lake City and 15 minutes from Provo, the park offers a convenient escape with sailing, windsurfing, fishing, and camping against a backdrop of dramatic mountain scenery.

The Reservoir

Deer Creek Reservoir was created in 1941 by damming the Provo River. At full pool it covers 2,965 acres with 13 miles of shoreline, flanked by the Wasatch Range to the west and the rolling hills of Heber Valley to the east. The afternoon thermal winds that funnel through Provo Canyon make it one of the best sailing and windsurfing locations in Utah.
